Introduction to Dynamic Cloth
For Poser 7 as well as Posers 5 or 6

Poser's Dynamic Clothing provides a great deal of realism for either still images or animations, but it can be a bit intimidating to get started using it. This tutorial provides an introduction to the Dynamic Cloth functions of Poser.

Cloth Parameters and Their Effects
For Poser version 5 or later

Poser's Cloth Room has the ability to create extremely realistic cloth effects. Its simulations however use many parameters whose exact effect on the behavior of the cloth items is not always obvious. This tutorial should help clear up some of the most common questions and provides settings for some common fabric types.

Animating a Guitar Strap
For use with Poser 5, 6 or 7 and (optionally) any version of Shade after 7

This tutorial describes how to use Poser's Cloth Room to handle a tricky animation issue- how to have a flexible object 'attached' to an animated one without tedious hand-adjusting of posed elements.

Creating Conforming Clothing For Poser Figures
For Poser 7 as well as Pro Pack, Poser 5 or 6

Building unique conforming clothing for Poser figures can be a challenging task- here's a step-by-step guide to the process.

Dynamic Cloth and the Walk Designer
For use with Poser 7 as well as Posers 5 or 6

Combining dynamic cloth and the Walk Designer can give you some really cool results, but setting it all up is a little tricky. If you run the cloth calculations before applying the Walk Designer walk, the figure will walk out from under the cloth, although the cloth will mold to the shape of the figure that was there when you did the calculations, and if you recalculate with the walk starting in frame #1, the cloth may not line up right as it drapes, as the figure isn’t starting in the zero pose. Here’s what you can do to ensure that the cloth works with the walk.

Wrap it Up! Cloth Tutorial
For use with Poser 7 as well as Posers 5 or 6

In this tutorial we’ll explore two little-used features of the Cloth Room- constrained and choreographed groups- to wrap a bath towel around our model. Although this tutorial was built using Poser 6, it will work for Poser 5 or 7 as well, since the Cloth Room interface didn’t change particularly from 5 to 6 to 7.

Making Poser 4 Clothing Work In Poser 5
For use with Poser 5 and Poser 6

Double sided or capped clothing will not work as Poser 5 dynamic props because some of the mesh will be in contact with the figure when at the zero pose. Try this, it may not work with every item of clothing because there may still be some intersecting polygons, but it will give you a start.

Dynamic Halter Top Dress
For use with Poser 5 and Poser 6

Here are some notes on how I set up the figure and dress to obtain the classic Marilyn Monroe scene from the 7 Year Itch...

Explanation of Cloth/Collision Parameters
For use with Poser 7 as well as Posers 5 or 6

The way cloth works requires some thinking about real world objects. This section will be a tutorial in the sense that I'll be instructing you to do things, but not things with Poser. This is a 'life' tutorial in a sense. We're going to take each property and figure out what it means in real life, so that we can apply it to Poser!
