Deep Images and OpenEXR 2.2

V-Ray 3.0 can output deep and multi-part images using the industry standard OpenEXR 2.2 format. Deep images store color and depth information for each pixel, enabling artists to take advantage of deep compositing workflows.

V-Ray 3.1 for 3ds Max adds support for OpenEXR 2.2 with DWA compression.

Improved render elements

  • Render out light contributions into separate components (raw, diffuse, specular, etc.) with the improved VRayLightSelect render element
  • Control object visibility in VRayVelocity render elements
