Poser Animation 100- Getting Started
For use with Poser 7 as well as Poser 5 or 6

Poser provides a straightforward introduction to animating in three dimensions- this tutorial will walk you through the workflow and introduce some of Poser's commonly-used animation tools.

Poser Animation 101- the Keyframe and Graph Palettes
For use with Poser 7, as well as previous versions back to 4

Animation is a complex and technically demanding art form, and 3D animation is even more so. Poser provides a simple yet powerful method of animating figures, props, cameras and lights, but getting started can be intimidating. Here's a walk through the basics, with an emphasis on controlling the motions that the figures are making.

The Animation Process
For use with all Poser and Anime Studio versions

2D and 3D animation software brings animation capability to the desktop and makes it easy- but just launching the application and starting to animate straightaway is not always the best way to make a good movie. This tutorial shows a workflow that has proven efficient and useful in professional and amateur animation projects alike.

Using Poser 7's Animation Layers to Create a High-Heeled Walk Pose
For Poser 7

This tutorial shows how to use Poser 7's Animation Layers feature to allow a figure to walk in high heels- a feature not directly available in Walk Designer.

Digital Sleight-of-Hand: Changing Prop Parenting in Animations
For use with Poser 7 as well as previous Poser versions back to 4

One of the most useful features for animators is the ability to attach or “parent” a prop to any given object. The parent object can be anything from another prop to a body part like the head or a hand. Parenting a prop makes it behave as part of the parent object removing the need to keyframe the prop separately thereby avoiding the subtle slips and shifts which can make an animation look unrealistic.

Animating Material Room Textures
For use with Poser 7 as well as Poser 5 or 6

Not all of Poser's material properties can be keyframed- but if you're willing to take a trip into the Advanced Material Room (the regular Material Room in Poser 5) you can use a special type of node to create animated textures and produce all kinds of interesting effects.

Introducing Actions In Mid-Walk
For use with Poser 6, Poser 5, Poser Artist/4, and Poser Pro Pack

This tutorial will show you how to introduce an event (in this case a wave) into the middle of a walk that has already been defined.

Animating a Guitar Strap
For use with Poser 5, 6 or 7 and (optionally) any version of Shade after 7

This tutorial describes how to use Poser's Cloth Room to handle a tricky animation issue- how to have a flexible object 'attached' to an animated one without tedious hand-adjusting of posed elements.

Making Windblown Hair
For use in Poser 7 as well as Poser 5 or 6

Poser's strand-based hair can produce very realistic images and animations- here's how to use Poser's wind force fields to give strand-based hair a windblown look.

Quick Tip: Smooth Looping Animation
For use with Poser 6, Poser 5, Poser Artist/4, and Poser Pro Pack

On looped animations it is common for a slight hiccup to exist in the movie on playback. This happens because...

That Matrix Thing You Do
For use with Poser 6, Poser 5, Poser Artist/4, and Poser Pro Pack

You’ve seen the ‘stop frame, move the camera, restart trick’ that the Wachowski Brothers made popular in The Matrix. It’s easy to replicate that effect in Poser...
